Shuster Advisory Group, LLC is an independent investment advisory group and fiduciary. We provide private wealth management as well as institutional and governmental retirement plan consulting services.

Shuster‘s comprehensive services for individual investors include globally diversified investment management, asset preservation strategies, and retirement income solutions. As a trusted fiduciary, we ensure that our clients’ best interests are always being served.

Shuster also has a long track record of working with the private sector, government agencies and non-profits. We provide these clients with a full scope of investment advisory services, including everything from plan design to compliance to plan conversion. We negotiate competitive rates and look for new ways to help increase retirement plan participation.

Our Team

Mark Shuster

Mark is the Founder and Managing Partner of Shuster Advisory Group, LLC. With over 30 years of experience, Mark provides a wide range of consulting services to governmental entities, private and publicly-held corporations, universities, banks and the financial services industry. Mark specializes in ongoing investment monitoring, plan analysis, due diligence, fee analysis and negotiations. He has in-depth knowledge of products, construction and pricing, thus providing him the ability to powerfully negotiate plan pricing and interest rates. Mark has served and continues to serve on the Board of Directors and Advisory Boards for insurance companies, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, foundations and private corporations. Mark has his Bachelors of Business Management from California State University at Fresno.

JoAnn Parrino

JoAnn is responsible for managing new business development for Shuster and overseeing the firm’s sales force. JoAnn has been with Shuster since 2007 when she joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer. In 2015, she moved over to her sales leadership role and was also named Partner.

JoAnn has more than 30 years experience in financial and retirement plan services. Prior to Shuster, she served as Assistant Vice President at Lockton Companies. Before that, she was Vice President of Employee Benefits for Bolton & Company.

Cristopher Borden

As CIO, Cristopher is responsible for recommending and the selection of all funds offered to Shuster clients. He has served in this role since joining the firm in 2016.

Previously, Cris was the lead tax-exempt bond portfolio manager at Bishop Street Capital Management. Under his leadership, the Bishop Street Hawaii Municipal Bond Fund received the Lipper award for highest total return in its class for 2001, 2002 and 2004, and it maintained a 4- and 5-star Morningstar rating during his tenure. Cris also worked as an analyst with The Rendon Group and served in the Peace Corps.

Cristopher holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 2010, Pacific Business News selected him as one of the top 40 professionals under 40 in Hawaii.
